Hartke VXL BASS ATTACK Absolutely brilliant from the very start - powerful tone-shaping and gritty blendable overdrive really make this a must-have. I would recommend it to everyone. It blows the Electroharmonix Battallion out of the water for much less money.
Simply put: its perfect! This is a great preamp, with an excelent design, with the right stuff on the right places. You can go from a warm overdriven to a crystal clear sound, enhance harmonics, equalize and do a little compression to achieve whatever sound youre after. And for the price, its a steal!
In my own humble opinion one of the best bass preamp for many genres. This pedal can overdrive, but i find it extremely usefull for adding clean, great musical harmonics in your signal, giving you presence in an overall mix, even above highly distorted guitars. Needs a bit of mingling with the settings (especially shape settings), but it will get you there.
