With Kerber for piano, Yann Tiersen, composer and multi-instrumentalist, presents a new chapter of his work. The name "Kerber" comes from a chapel of the same name on the island of Ushant. This is a reference to the background of Tiersen's pieces. He connects his music with places from the surroundings of his homeland and transports his thoughts and feelings about these special places through the music. In this way, the music provides an insight into his way of thinking and his very personal feelings. Through his musical work he therefore always reveals a piece of his soul.
His new pieces are characterized by his nuanced and subtle approach. New is the beginning with clearly electronic material. Very thoughtful, structured and with attention to detail, he creates a world all his own.
The pieces are arranged on a medium level of difficulty and are therefore especially suitable for pianists with previous knowledge. Like its contents, the music book is visually appealing and of high quality. Illustrated with graphic artwork and printed on valuable uncoated paper, it is the absolute total package.
"I think there is a similarity between the infinite big and the infinite smallness of everything. It's the same experiment looking through a microscope as it is a telescope." (Yann Tiersen)
