With the Guild Starfire I Bass Cherry Red Guild presents a practical Semi-Hollow E-Bass with short-scale length as part of the Newark St. Collection. Thanks to the surprisingly fast neck and the BiCoil pickup, the semi-acoustic four-string impresses with great playability and a fat vintage tone.
Semi-acoustic construction with short scale length
The semi-acoustic Starfire I Bass with its resonant laminated mahogany body and short 30.75" scale provides the perfect basis for sonorous bass sounds with a pleasantly prominent vintage character. The center block counteracts unwanted feedback even at high volumes. The reduced string tension together with the surprisingly convenient Modern Thin U profile of the mahogany neck guarantees optimal playing characteristics.
BiCoil Pickup, Hardware
When plugged into a bass amp, the Starfire I Bass delivers a rich vintage tone with the Guild BC-1 BiCoil Alnico pickup that captures the woody character of the semi-acoustic body. In addition to the Volume and Tone controls for adjusting the tone, the electric bass also features a Vintage Switch that increases the presence of the bass sound by gently cutting back the low frequencies. Indestructible hardware in the form of a Bass Tune-O-Matic bridge, an elegant harp tailpiece and precise vintage-style tuners complete the Starfire I Bass Cherry Red from Guild.
