The Gretsch G5420T-140 Limited Edition Electromatic Hollow Body stands out with its Two Tone Pearl/Stone Platinum finish
The Exclusive 140th-Anniversary Edition from Gretsch.
The guitar house founded in 1883 by Mannheim's Friedrich Gretsch in Brooklyn not only produces guitars with a high recognition value in style and sound, but also high-quality elements that are indispensable in the music world. With their timeless design and indestructible features, the semi-acoustic guitars are more than just a cult classic for blues and rock fans. For the 140th anniversary ("Double-Platinum Anniversary") of the company, a limited reissue of some of the most classic Gretsch models has now been developed, which shine in style in double-platinum finishes. The GRETSCH G5420T-140 Limited Edition Electromatic Hollow Body Pearl/Stone Platinum is fully equipped with FT-5E Filter'Tron pickups, Vintage-Style tuners, classically versatile circuitry and adorns itself with premium tonewoods and a color-matched headstock with 140th Anniversary badge.
High quality woods and construction
The traditional Gretsch construction has been impressing blues and rock lovers with its full sound with strong acoustic timbre since 1958. Back, sides, and top are made of a maple laminate and joined by Gretsch 1959 trestle bracing and white binding. In keeping with the "Double Platinum" anniversary theme, the top and headstock of the G5420T-140 Limited Edition Electromatic Hollow Body shine in an expressive Pearl Platin um contrasting with the Stone Platinum finish on the back and neck. This is topped off with a pickguard, also in Stone-Platinum, and anniversary plaque.
Gretsch FT-67 Filter'Tron with Treble Bleed Circut
The tonal dynamics of the Gretsch G5420T-140 Limited Edition Electromatic Hollow Body Pearl/Stone Platinum are enhanced by Gretsch's FT-5E Filter'Tron humbucker pickups. These perloid coil-embellished versions of Gretsch's time-honored Filter'Trons elicit vintage voicing with rounded with modern bright tone from the hollowbody guitar. Matching the pickguard, the humbucker frames are finished in a Stone Platinum finish. A typical Gretsch circuit is also present, with which the tone can be adjusted by individual Volume knobs and Master/Tone controls. The Treble-Bleed circuit also provides balance and expressive playing at any volume.
Perloid coilformers and humbucker frames adapted to the pickguard stand out as a special highlight
The headstock is kept classic and convinces with modern elements and anniversary badge
Hardware and other details
Reliable hardware is a must for any Gretsch guitar, which is naturally found on the 140th Double-Platinum Anniversary version. Six strings run through a Traditional Bigsby B-70String-Thru vibrato tailpiece over an Adjusto-Matic bridge with Laurel foot. The overlying Laurel fingerboard features 22 medium jumbo frets with Perloid Humpblock inlays spread across them. For stable tuning, Vintage-Style tuners are located on the headstock.
