Singlecut design with short scale length
For the construction of the G2220 Junior Jet II SinglecutBass Gretsch uses a shorter 30.3" scale length (770 mm) in addition to the linden body and the bolt-on maple neck, which is not only the decisive basis for the amazingly sonorous sound of the handy four-stringer, but also contributes to its extremely pleasant playing characteristics due to the reduced string tension. The pleasantly grippy neck profile also lies comfortably in the hand.
Two bass single coils with chrome caps deliver flexible tones for sonorous grooves.
Single coil pickups with straightforward circuitry
The two Gretsch Bass single coil pickups of the G2220 Electromatic Junior Jet Bass II convince at the guitar amplifier with an astonishingly full and powerful sound that reacts to the playing style with lively dynamics. To retrieve a variety of timbres, Gretsch also equips the Shortscale 4-String Bass with a straightforward passive circuit consisting of a 3-way switch and general volume and tone controls.
Encapsulated die-cast tuners keep the G2220 Electromatic Junior Jet Bass II securely in tune.

Really chuffed with this bass. Skinny neck and even though it is coated it is not sticky. Balances great on the strap and the sound has a great growl. Not a flawless set up but pretty darn close! Don't let people put you off short scale basses, they sound just as good as long scale. You may need to tweak the amp but hey ho. Bass came well packed too.

I had a bass but found the scale was to much for my disability so wanted a short scale. I always thought a gretsch would be out of my price range but then I found the Music store and my dreams were allowed to come true. I’ve taken to this short scale so quick it’s a fantastic product, looks good feels beautiful and sounds fantastic. Thank you music store I can have fun now.
