The Godin Acoustic Solutions ASG-8 Wood 120 promises a transparent and warm sound image of guitar and vocals. In addition, the control is very clearly structured and extremely easy to use. In addition to two separately adjustable channels, the amplifier includes an effects section with 4 effects whose intensity can be conveniently regulated via a dedicated control. Furthermore, each channel is equipped with an extra reverb effect. The lightweight cabinet is made of robust plywood and houses an 8" speaker and a 1" treble tweeter, which come to a proud total power of 120 watts. The device is rounded off by a practical Bluetooth function, which enables easy pairing of a smartphone or tablet.
In order to make the channels versatile, they are each equipped with a combi jack for 6.3 mm jack or XLR plugs. A gain control for the volume and a 3-band equalizer per channel allow the connected instrument or microphone to be individually adjusted. At the same time, the saturation of the channel can be adjusted via a resonance control. At the same time the phase switch can eliminate feedback.
Each channel can be equipped with its own reverb effect, which can be switched on or off at the touch of a button and adjusted via a control. Four additional effects can be activated. The sound can be enriched with two chorus, one flange or one echo effect. In addition, it is possible to adjust the strength of the effect via a control.
A Bluetooth function offers the possibility of a wireless connection to the smartphone, or tablet. For musicians who prefer a wired solution, the amplifier includes an aux-in jack for 3.5 mm stereo jack plugs.
On the back of the unit is a D.I. out that allows the signal to be sent directly to an external mixer, or recording device. A headphone jack for silent rehearsals perfectly rounds out the Godin Acoustic Solutions ASG-8 in its versatile functionality.
