Traditional Semihollow Construction
A representative of the semi-hollow construction, the ES-335 features a classically crafted body with the typical Sharp Horn cutaways of the vintage, which is made of three-ply laminate of maple and poplar wood. The laminate construction, which has been tried and true since the ES-175, is complemented by a solid maple center block that aids in the resonance transfer of the strings into the body and ensures that the ES-335 can be played easily at high gain settings. As a special feature of the '64 model, the long neck heel gluedmahoganyneck of the 1964 ES-335 Sixties Cherry Ultra Light Aged features the incomparable Authentic '64 Medium C neck profile and the cellulose nitratesmall block inlays used since 1962.

Authentic electronics equipment

The two hand-wound dual pickups are traded as replicas of the coveted PAF-Humbucker and offer a moderate output that can handle anything from expressive cleans to steamy crunch tones.

Classic Hardware and nitro lacquer with Murphy Aging.
For the right look and feel of a distinctive replica of the '64 ES-335 model in contemporary Sixties cherry, the entire know-how of Murphy Lab, founded by Tom Murphy, comes into play. The aging experts have thoroughly examined numerous preserved models of the golden Gibson era, and paint texture, hardware aging and typical playing traces of old originals to be able to implement as detailed as never before. The result is a successful aging process on Ultra Light Aged level, which represents the condition of an instrument that has been enormously well cared for over decades, with minimal nitro lacquer cracks and slight hardware aging.
