One of the biggest features compared to the Holy Grail Les Paul, the 1960 Les Paul Standard features the famous 1960 Slim Taper neck profile, whose slim design has provided comfortable playing characteristics in the hands of Eric Clapton, Joe Walsh and Paul McCartney. In addition, the long neck foot (Long Neck Tenon) glued down to under the neck humbucker is considered a guarantee of good Les Paul construction and improves the instrument's resonance for sustain-rich sounds. As the last vintage of the Burst era, naturally an intensively drawn, two-piece flamed maple top with classic Royalite binding is used.

To get as close as possible not only to the look and feel but also to the sound of the era, the Gibson Custom Shop uses two hand-wound Custom Bucker pickup in the 1960s Les Paul Reissue. The two dual coils are considered by fans and collectors to be successful replicas of the famous models with patent-applied-for stickers and give the Gibson 1960 Les Paul Standard on the amplifier its incomparable voice with classic Alnico character. Even the hand-wired wiring with oil-paper capacitors and CTS pots remains historically correct.

Of course, classic features of the 1960s Paula are not missing on this reissue model. For example, the model's 'Double Ring' Kluson tuners and knob buttons with famous silver inserts make it quickly identifiable among connoisseurs, while the classic combination of Gibson ABR-1 Tune-o-Matic bridge and lightweight Aluminium-Stopbar complete the traditional LP setup. Last but not least, the Murphy Lab team of experts has given this Les Paul a tasteful Ultra Light Aging treatment. The result is an authentic-looking instrument of the era that has survived the decades virtually intact and, apart from a few cracks in the nitro lacquer and a slight Hardware aging, has remained largely in its original condition.
