Custom Bucker and classic Wrap Around Bridge on Antique Pelham Blue
"Smokin' Joe"
Born in New York State in 1977, guitarist Joe Bonamassa is regarded as one of the best blues musicians of the recent past. Already at the age of 12, the wunderkind opened shows for BB King and has since been able to establish itself at the top of the music world with 15 albums released.
Joe Bonamassa is regarded as an absolute soundgourmet with a proven preference for Vintage guitars and amplifiers of the golden era of guitar building, which he often uses on stage. These include in particular ES models and Les Pauls by Gibson which give him the basis for a unique, singing sound.
But even before modern instruments with individual style, Joe Bonamassa does not close his eyes, as his Bonabyrd Signature Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville , Tennessee impressively demonstrates.
Unique on a Les Paul : Firebird headstock with Banjo mechanics.
The Bonabyrd
The successful design of the Gibson Custom Shop Joe Bonamassa Bonabyrd immediately catches the eye. The Silhouette classical Les Paul body paired with the headstock of one Firebird seems unusual at first, but in combination with the Antique Pelham Blue finish it quickly turns out to be a coherent homage to the Golden '50s with their sweeping street cruisers and the emerging Rock music. Banjo Mechanics - a rare feature on guitars - provide "clean" styling and stable tuning, while the strings on the Wrap Around bridge are countered Aluminium historically correct.
The Custom buckers known from the Gibson Collector's Choice program prove to be authentic PAF replicas that come closer to the much sought-after sound than any other pickup. They convince with playful-transparent reproduction, airy height spectrum and incomparable dynamics, through which they skillfully reproduce every playing nuance and put the control over the sound in the hands of the player.
Each Bonabyrd is hand signed by Joe Bonamassa on the back of the headstock.
