Gibson J-45 Standard Vintage SunburstLefthand at a glance
With the Gibson J-45 Standard Vintage SunburstLefthand, the traditional US manufacturer also presents left-handers with the classic combination of historical heritage, high-quality craftsmanship and outstanding sound of the J-45. This first-class acoustic guitarAcoustic Guitar: An acoustic guitar is a musical instrument in the string family. When a string is plucked, its vibration is transmitted from the bridge, resonating throughout the top of the guitar. It is also transmitted to the side and back of the instrument, resonating through the air in the body, and producing sound from the sound hole. The original, general term for this stringed instrument is guitar, and the retronym 'acoustic guitar' distinguishes it from an electric guitar, which relies on electronic amplification. In standard tuning, the guitar's six strings are tuned (low to high) E2 A2 D3 G3 B3 E4. The guitar likely originated in Spain in the early 16th century, deriving from the guitarra latina. in round-shoulder design features only the finest tone woods and absolute premium features in terms of playability and design. The model comes with a solid Sitka spruce top and an equally solid mahogany body for an outstanding acoustic sound that can also be amplified on stage and in the recording studio thanks to the built-in L. R. Baggs VTC pickup. With a robust hard case and a practical accessory kit included in the scope of delivery, acoustic enthusiasts receive a highly professional guitar with full features.
The Gibson J-45 Standard Vintage Sunburst Lefthand also allows left-handed players to experience the unique playing feel of the 1940s.
Sitka spruce, mahogany and Scalloped-X bracing create excellent tonal depth and complexity.
Sitka spruce and mahogany
The Gibson J-45 Standard Vintage SunburstLefthand gets its characteristic sound quality from selected tonewoods and innovative top bracing. For example, the guitar comes with a solid top made of Sitka spruce, which is one of the preferred woods for guitar tops due to its broad dynamics and clear, articulate tones. Mahogany also enjoys a high popularity in guitar making. Solid mahogany back and sides add a warm, full sound with an accentuated midrange presence. For the necessary assertiveness and a balanced sound, the guitar also features bracing in the form of hand-scalloped X-bracing, which gives the top more freedom of movement by means of braces placed lower in the middle. This results in increased resonance and improved bass response, which are supported by the popular round-shoulder dreadnought design and give the guitar versatility.
The clever design gives the guitar the highest level of playing comfort.
Round-shoulder and ergonomic neck profile.
Because of its rounded upper sides and a comfortable slim-taper neck profile, the guitar feels exceptionally good in the hand and guarantees an excellent playing feel both sitting and standing. Also the here used rosewood fingerboard The popular wood for fingerboards is characterized by its smooth feel under the fingers, which makes it child's play to glide the fingering hand quickly over the 20 frets. At the same time, a gentle fingerboard radius and a slim 43.8 mm nut width meet all the requirements for flatpicking and problem-free chord changes. This is supported by a traditionally flat string action and a shortened scale length of 628.7 mm, which reduce the effort required for picking and prevent premature hand fatigue, while high-quality nickel-plated Grover Rotomatic tuners ensure high tuning stability.
The L. R. Baggs is installed in numerous high-end acoustic guitars.
L. R. Baggs VTC pickup system
Like numerous premium guitars from Gibson, the Gibson J-45 Standard Vintage SunburstLefthand is equipped with the professional L. R. Baggs VTC pickup. Its pristine sound transmission and control units for volume and tone control make it one of the most popular models for acoustic guitars. Here, the piezo element placed under the bridge directly picks up the vibrations, which minimizes typical "piezo quack" tones and allows for clear and dynamic sound reproduction of the instrument. In addition, since this is an active pickup system powered by a battery, there is a stronger signal transmission and less susceptibility to interference or signal loss. Overall, the L. R. Baggs VTC offers an excellent way to amplify the sound of the acoustic guitar without compromising on sound quality.
The vintage sunburst finish is reminiscent of many superior guitars in Gibson's history.
Premium design in vintage sunburst finish.
The Gibson J-45 Standard Vintage SunburstLefthand retains many of the traditional visual features that made the 1940s model so popular. The distinctive Vintage Sunburst finishin gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, which runs from a light honey-coloured centre to deep black edges, defines the guitar's classic appearance and expresses a nostalgic charm that will delight vintage lovers. and to discreetly bring the guitar's elaborate Finish to the forefront, the manufacturer here dispenses with striking visual details and limits the design of its decorative elements to a classic tortoise pickguard, plain multi-ply bindings, a single-ring rosette and mother-of-pearl dot fingerboard inlays, presenting an unobtrusive yet attractive design.
I am a electric guitar man, but I was looking for a universal acoustic for accompanying and solo playing, and it seems, I've got what I need. I have never bought play a new guitar, this is the first and the glue smell still catch me))

The overall craftsmanship on this guitar is good. That said there is a imperfection on my guitar, more specifically the glue being observable to the naked eye, which is pretty disappointing considering the huge price it retails for. Sound is really great, no complaints here. The guitar looks and feels great, with the exception of the glue like I said. If you have the money to spend it's a great guitar, that said the price is preeety steep, so it comes to personal opinion in regards to Price/Performance. I believe you can find great guitars for half the price of this one. Still I've tested it on a lot of different tracks and genres and it is very malleable. It's a great guitar to have and I have definitely enjoy playing it!

So much has been said about this Guitar over the years. This is my first Gibson acoustic and I'm comparing it with my Martin D18 which I've gigged with for about 15 years. I have to say I think this may become my favourite acoustic!

This is a lovely guitar with a professional finish and a fabulous tone that comes from the selection of spruce and mahogany tonewoods. I deliberately selected a Gibson Dove for my six-string acoustic (with maple tonewoods) as I like brighter tones in acoustic guitars but in the case of a 12 string that would be too bright - in the J-45 12 String, the "darker" sounding tonewoods balance off the high trebles of a 12 string leaving just the right amount of jangle.
The guitar was also great value. The J-45 may be regarded as Gibson's "workhorse" but you are definitely getting something special when you buy one.
