The Gibson Doves in Flight, with its detailed craftsmanship and careful wood selection, exemplifies the decades of experience and unmistakable craftsmanship of the traditional U.S. manufacturer from Bozeman, Montana. Thanks to its all-solid construction and handmade bracing, the acoustic guitar produces every note with a fast response. At the same time, the large square-shoulder dreadnought body provides the necessary warmth in the bass frequencies, making the instrument perfect for vocal accompaniment and fine picking. A very narrow fretboard makes for an exceptionally comfortable grip, so even extensive fingering patterns can be mastered with ease. The guitar comes with a sturdy case and a Gibson accessory kit.

The construction of the top

To ensure that the guitar can generate every note in a quick response, it is equipped with a fine-grained Sitka spruce top. This, combined with the large build and a Scalloped-X bracing, provides warm bass, clear midrange and fine treble frequencies. The instrument's namesake is a large tortoise pickguard, which is decorated with lovingly designed engravings and high-quality inlays of abalone. The evenly grained top is framed by a filigree multi-ply binding made of abalone, which is perfectly matched to the corresponding multi-stripe soundhole rosette and creates a tasteful transition to the other components of the body.

Back and sides

A very distinctive feature of the Gibson Doves in Flight is the even-grained curly maple body, which is very tastefully accented by a classy cherry finish. At the same time, the high-quality wood complements the sound with rich and warm bass frequencies, which unfold in a wide-ranging and powerful way even at low strums. In order to emphasize the symmetry of the grain of the opened back, it is bordered with a fine, cream-colored multi-ply binding, which contrasts well with the coloring of the wood. Matching the Bindings and the multi-faceted structure of the curly maple, an elaborate backstripe runs between the two halves of the back.

Neck, Hardware & Design

The three-piece maple neck with its round profile is also perfectly adapted to the overall construction of the acoustic guitar. Thus the instrument can be grasped very obligingly in all 20 frets. Alone 16 of the total 28 Doves-in-Flight inlays are located in the noble ebony fingerboard of the guitar for orientation, so that the term "custom shop" is only too justified here. The slim 40mm nut is crafted from bone and works in tandem with a compensated bridge inlay to ensure clean intonation across the 648mm scale. Golden Gotoh keystone tuners with engraving guarantee a precise tuning of the 6 steel strings, which end in an ebony bridge decorated with inlays. Between the tuners is another generous inlay that completes the instrument in its value and its individual look.
