Traditional mahogany construction
As the most important component of the instrument that gives the SG guitar its unique charm, a classically slim mahogany body is used, which with its subtly kept Cutaways and contoured shapings not only ensures comfortable playability, but also provides ideal access to the high fingerboard positions. This is made from rosewood according to a proven recipe and offers 22 frets with Authentic Medium Jumbo fret wire, while the mahogany neck with resonant long neck heel and its original Medium C profile provides additional resonance and proven left hand feel.
Equipped with two Gibson P-90 Soapbar pickups and classic Gibson Lightning Bar wraparound bridge, the Gibson 1963 SG Special Reissue ULA Classic White #301723 is clearly designed for hot sounds of rock 'n' roll.
The distinctive nitro lacquer cracks give the 1963 SG Special in Classic White its own character and unique status.
Gibson P-90 Soapbar Single Coils
In contrast to the standard model equipped with two humbuckers, the Special version of the SG uses two Gibson P-90 pickups in the neck and bridge positions. As the forerunner of the famous P.A.F. double coil, the P-90 has been used in numerous Gibson instruments since the post-war period and is still celebrated today for its distinctive midrange and powerful tone. The electrical system of the 1963 SG Special Reissue electric guitar is completely hand-wired and assigns separate controls to both pickups for Volume and Tone.

Authentic VOS Hardware
The hardware equipment of the Gibson 1963 SG Special Reissue also follows the traditional equipment of the original SG Special and presents itself simple but incredibly effective. On the body, the famous Gibson Lightning Bar Bridge delivers direct resonance transmission and clean intonation as a wraparound design with compensated tabs for each string. Both the Classic White nitrocellulose finish and the hardware appointments have undergone meticulous ULA treatment and convey the typical 'broken-in' character of a well-rehearsed, well-kept original.
