While the historically accurate construction with one-piece mahogany body, strong "medium chunky" mahogany neck and an ebony fingerboard with particularly flat frets promises first-class playing characteristics, an Alnico Staple pickup and an Custom P-90 Soapbar single coil ensure authentic vintage sounds between jazz, Blues and rock. naturally, the Gibson Custom Shop completes the 1954 Les Paul Custom Staple Pickup Reissue with its historically accurate add-on parts in an elegant gold finish.

The comfortable "medium chunky" mahogany neck of the 1954 Les Paul Custom Reissue is glued with a long neck foot and hide-glue.
Historically correct construction
For an exact reproduction of the sound and playing characteristics of a vintage original, the Gibson Custom Shop uses historically correct dimensions and production methods when building the 1954 Les Paul Custom Reissue. While the one-piece mahogany body has no weight relief thanks to the careful selection of the wood, the mahogany neck, which is glued with a long neck heel, sits comfortably in the hand thanks to the strong "medium chunky" profile. In addition to the large mother-of-pearl block Inlays, the ebony fingerboard has 22 particularly flat frets, which promise a low string action and butter-soft playing characteristics. In addition, glass-hard hide-glue and the wafer-thin nitro lacquer finish guarantee that the entire guitar resonates freely.
A stacked pickup with height-adjustable Alnico pole pieces and a classic P-90 single coil promise a rich sound spectrum.
P-90 and Staple pickup
The pickup configuration of the 1954 Les Paul Custom Reissue naturally follows the historical specifications and relies on a classic Custom Soapbar P-90 single coil on the bridge and the coveted Alnico Staple pickup in the neck position. Thanks to its classic sound with a wide mid-range spectrum and lively dynamics, the powerful bridge pickup provides the perfect basis for wiry cleans and assertive overdrive. The neck pickup, on the other hand, impresses with a powerful yet finely articulated sound with astonishingly brilliant highs thanks to the individually height-adjustable Alnico V-pole pickups. A traditional, hand-wired electrical system with 3-way pickup switch and individual volume and tone controls for each pickup also ensures full control over the sound of the electric guitar.

Last but not least, the Gibson Custom Shop completes the 1954 Les Paul Custom Reissue VOS Ebony with historically accurate add-on parts, whose gold finish emphasizes the elegant "Tuxedo look". A classic aluminum stopbar tailpiece guides the strings over the ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, which was first used on the Les Paul Custom and guarantees precise intonation and comfortable string action thanks to its adjustment options. Kluson Waffleback Reissue tuners on the typical "open book" headstock also keep the electric guitar securely in tune.
