The Image 2 studio monitor from Fluid Audio is made for near- and midfield applications and offers with the latest DSP development and its newly developed Class-D power amplifiers an outstanding and powerful performance and paired with a first-class spatial imaging and depth of field. Optimal linear transient response is provided by a newly developed integrated AMT tweeter, a custom mid-range driver with aluminium cone and two side-firing 8" ultra-long-throw woofers with counter-rotating arrangement.
Bass power despite closed cabinet
The frequency response offers a bandwidth of remarkable 28 Hz - 30 kHz. The bass drivers are driven by a power amplifier with 2 x 225 watts and offer almost unlimited headroom. The amplification for the mid-range driver is 150 W and for the tweeter 75 W. The Image 2 has a closed cabinet (no bass reflex) and thus offers a lack of bass overdrive. This makes the Image 2 much less sensitive to frequency interaction in the room and also less sensitive to position in the room.
The Mixcube Mode and Sonarworks Integration
The Image 2 is a 2 in 1 monitor and also offers an additional Mixcube mode. In Mixcube mode, the Image 2 acts like a small wideband monitor that many mixing engineers have in their Studio to simulate the playback of low bass systems such as radios and mobile phone speakers. Radios and cell phone speakers. This function is activated by a foot switch (included). The built-in USB port expands the possibilities of the Image 2 enormously. Among other things, future updates can be installed via this. In addition, correction profiles of the well-known software Sonarworks can be loaded into the DSP chip of the Image 2 via USB. For this purpose, the Image 2 has various memory locations that can be assigned four different profiles. These profiles are managed by the Image 2 's own FLUID Audio software DCT.
Sonarworks trial version and connections galore!
A 60-day limited Sonarworks version (without measurement microphone) can be obtained for the Image 2 after registering with Sonarworks. Another key feature of the Image 2 is the versatile rear connectors. In addition to the standard analogue XLR and TRS inputs, there is an AES/EBU (XLR), as well as an SPDIF (coaxial) connector. Via the SPDIF-Thru the signal can be conveniently looped through to the second monitor box. Whether the box processes the right or left signal can then be defined with a toggle switch on the rear panel.
