Precision Bass with authentic Fifties specifications.
The Fender Vintera '50s Precision Bass MN Sea Foam Green bundles the most sought-after Fifties appointments in one instrument and accordingly convinces with the authentic feel and sound of an original from the golden Fender era. In addition to the alder body in the typical Preci design, the four-string has a bolt-on maple neck, whose "Vintage C" profile with official 44.5 mm nut width is full but comfortable in the hand. At the bass amplifier, the E-Bass with a FenderVintage-Style '50s split-coil pickup provides tradition-conscious bass sounds with a pronounced low-frequency foundation and rich mid-range growl. Last but not least, the Vintera '50s Precision Bass MN Sea Foam Green impresses with historically accurate Hardware in the form of an American Vintage 4-saddle bridge and precise American VintageReverseOpen-Gear tuners.
Authentic in feel and sound, the Fender Vintera '50s Precision Bass MN Sea Foam Green comes with the authentic appointments of the first mass-produced electric bass.
Four screws and a neckplate connect the alder body to the wide "Vintage C" maple neck of the Vintera '50s Precision Bass.
Historically Accurate Construction with "Vintage C" Neck
The construction of the Vintera '50s Precision Bass is naturally based on the historical specifications of the Fifties, and to reproduce the feel and sound of a Vintage original as accurately as possible. The tradition-conscious design with flowing contours at the front and back makes the alder body hug the body with comfortable stability. The bolt-on, one-piece maple neck, on the other hand, comes in an official "Vintage C" profile that, with a full 44.5mm nut width and 7.25" fretboard radius (184mm), feels full but comfortable in the hand and lets classic playing techniques come off with ease.
A vintage-style '50s split-coil pickup with traditional passive switching promises premium vintage sounds.
Vintage-style split-coil and passive circuitry
As pickup for the Vintera '50s Precision BassFender chooses an in-house vintage-style '50s Split coil pickup, which is placed as usual at the sweet spot in the middle of the body. The pickup, which was developed on the basis of historical models, elicits tradition-conscious Fender sounds from the bass amplifier, which are ideally suited for classic bass lines between rock and Motown with a rich low-end punch and the unmistakable rumble of the low-mids. To customize the sound, gold-anodized aluminum pickguard of the bass guitar carries a classic passive electrics with volume control and treble slider.
American Vintage reverse open-gear tuners guarantee accurate tuning and high tuning stability.
Vintage style attachments
Last but not least, Fender completes the Vintera '50s Precision Bass MN Sea Foam Green with traditional add-on parts. The historically accurate Fender American Vintage 4-saddle bridge with ribbed string riders not only supports the classic sound character of the bass guitar, but also guarantees accurate intonation and comfortable playable string action. At the headstock, American VintageReverseOpen-Gear tuners also keep the electric bass guitar from the Vintera series securely in the correct tuning.
The bass was a present for my son and he is happy with the quality of the build and looks. The bass did however arrive with a very high action, which I was disappointed with as your website says all guitars are inspected and adjusted to make sure they are ready to play on arrival. I can’t get it setup at a guitar shop at the moment due to COVID19, so it’s a bit frustrating! Otherwise guitar appears good, will know more when it’s setup fully.
