I was looking for a roasted maple P neck with a wide nut. This is perfect for me. It is very well made and I really like the satin finish on the backside. I has the tiny vintage frets and its light weight. Fret ends are ok. Maybe a little sanding is needed, but not necessary. Also the nut has just shallow grooves in it, so filing the nut is necessary. Fender does point this out on their website.
Downsides: -tuner holes are 18,6mm, so its hard to find tuners that fit. I already had schaller BMF tuners and the bushings are loose( my temporary fix is copper tape around the bushings). Problem will hopefully be solved with american vintage series bushings(18,8mm) which I'm waiting to arrive. Maybe fender pure vintage tuners fit, but fender does not have dimensions on their page.
-Truss rod adjustment at heel. Some might like this but i dont.
-Price is a bit steep considering you must file the nut and maybe fret ends yourself or have a luthier do it.
Very nice neck that fits like a glove to a mexican made standard precision bass body.
