Dreadnought guitar with an extensive sound image
Thanks to its solid dreadnought construction, the Fender Paramount PD-220E NAT produces a comprehensive sound with warm bass and assertive mid-range frequencies. Thanks to the extra-flat bracing and the wafer-thin finish, these can develop quickly and over a wide area, making the acoustic guitar ideal for vocal accompaniment. At the same time, the flat neck promises a pleasant playability in all 20 frets, which intonate cleanly with the help of the high-quality bone hardware. Smooth-running tuners are inserted into the headstock to ensure precise tuning of the 6 steel strings. Conveniently, an active pickup system is built into the instrument, which transmits the acoustic sound unaltered to the amplifier. Visually, the guitar has a very traditional look and impresses with an elegant natural lacquerfinish with a high-gloss finish. The scope of delivery includes a Fender Deluxe Black hardshell case.
The dreadnought models from the Fender Paramount series produce a rich sound
Construction and woods
Thanks to a Sitka spruce top with scalloped X-bracing, the Dreadnought produces an all-encompassing sound with clear mid-range and restrained treble frequencies even with light strumming. The mahogany back and sides add a pleasantly warm note to every tone, resulting in a very balanced sound overall. The mahogany neck has a flat 'C' profile, which enables effortless fingering. This means that the entire Ovangkol fingerboard can be optimally reached in all positions, making even complex chords and fingering patterns child's play. The Ovangkol bridge is fitted with fine ebony pins with which the strings are fixed.
Hardware and design
To make it easy to tune the strings, the Paramount PD-220E NAT guitar is equipped with open nickel tuners, which also match the generally traditional appearance perfectly. A compensated bridge inlay and a 43 mm wide bone nut ensure a clean sound development over the entire 643 mm scale length. The fretboard is decorated with delicate snowflake inlays, which serve as orientation for the player. The top and the sound hole are surrounded by checkered inlays, which contrast the coloring of the top in a very aesthetic way. In addition, an extensive tiger-striped pickguard is glued to the top.
Electronics
A Fishman Sonitone pickup system is built into the body so that the instrument can also be used on stage. With the help of a piezo element under the saddle, the acoustic sound is transmitted directly to the preamplifier. This is elegantly concealed in the sound hole and includes a tone and volume control so that the output signal can be individually adjusted. The active system is powered by a 9V block battery.
