The Fender MTG Tube Distortion is a distortion effect pedal for electric guitar that accurately creates the sounds of tube break-up and saturation. Fender have inserted actual vacuum tubes into the MTG giving guitarists access to these desirable tones in a compact pedal format. The NOS (New Old Stock) US-made 6205 pre-amp tube is integral to the design philosophy of the MTG, and this is reflected in the unit’s controls. Tone-shaping Treble, Middle and Bass controls offer everything you would expect from a 3-band EQ, alongside a complimentary Tight knob. The lightweight chassis is crafted from durable anodized aluminium, and includes the classic Fender Amp Jewel LED. All control knobs are also individually backlit, making this pedal easy to operate in darker environments, such as clubs and rehearsal rooms.
The main features of the Fender MTG Tube Distortion include:
You can feel the valve inside this pedal. My Katana now sounds like a valve amp. With low gain the pedal is very responsive like a clean valve amp. When you up the gain you get a nice distortion. The equalizer knobs are very responsive too, you can obtain a lot of different sounds with this pedal. I love the tight control which allows you a lot of control over your distorted sound with high gain. With the volume and/or gain boost, it's like two pedals in one. Well done Fender.
