Fender Locking Stratocaster/Telecaster Tuners Chrome

I bought these tuners to replace on my American Standard Telecaster, as I used locking tuners on other guitars and missed having the same on this one.

I was very surprised at these locking tuners and they surpassed my expectations, especially having used Grover locking tuners in the past... these are much better.

PROS:
- Price is unbeatable here... 86 EUR is much cheaper than what you find in other stores.
- Installation: Fender really has a great system in place, no added screws or small holes needed. As long as you have the two holes marking the spot where the tuner goes in, all you need to do is put the tuner in place, place the washer and tighten the nut from above.
- Precision: Fender standard tuners are good enough, but these take your tuning precision to a whole new level.
- String Angle: since you don't need windings around the tuning pegs, string break angle at the nut is way less than before. This prevents that annoying buzz on vintage strats. It is also a lot less pressure on the nut, which helps to its longevity.
- String tension: Bends just became easier, since the break angle at the nut is less than before. This just makes the strings much easier to play.
- Staggered tuners: Not all tuners are the same height. This is good because you have shorter tuning pegs for the lower strings. This can even help avoid using the string trees in some cases.
- Resonance: This one I cannot explain, but I installed the tuners and kept the strings that were already installed, so I could see (and hear) the difference without any influence of new strings. The fact is that the guitar became more resonant... maybe because you always loose some contact on standard tuners due to the string windings on the pegs.

All in all, these tuners are fantastic and was one of the best investments I ever made in terms of guitar upgrades.

Have always liked to have locking tuners on my guitars if not just for the ease of string changes. These Fender locking tuners are a fantastic hassle free addition to any US or Mexican Stratocaster.

This is such an affordable step and essential upgrade to taking a MIM Strat and putting up there as a real professional instrument.
