The Fender Limited Edition '59 250K Jazzmaster DLX Closet Classic Desert Sand #CZ550958 represents a particularly noble interpretation of the famous Jazzmaster, which combines classic design elements of the year 1959 with modernized appointments. Here, traditional hardware parts interact with a noble Closet Classic Desert Sand nitrocellulose Finish and matching gold pickguard for the particularly tasteful appearance of the offset classic. As a child of the Fender Custom Shop, a Deluxe Hardshell Case, a signed Certificate of Authenticity and an additional Custom Shop strap are of course included.
To ensure that the '59 250K Jazzmaster's body is always ideally balanced when played both on the strap and on the lap, two exceptionally lightweight pieces of ash wood are used for the body, while the gauzy Desert Sand nitrocellulose lacquer allows the body's resonance to unfold undisturbed. All the dimensions on the back of the Quarter Sawn Maple neck stay true to the classic specifications of the original Jazzmaster, while the compound radius of the Flat-Lam Rosewood fingerboard, which rises from 7.25 to 9.5 inches, provides the perfect mix of vintage and modern for confident chord playing and comfortable bending in the higher registers.
Even if the electronic equipment of the '59 250K Jazzmaster may seem classic at first glance, the instrument has a very unique sound character. Volume and tone controls with a DC resistance of 250 kOhm each are used for this purpose, which elicit a comparatively warm and round sound from the two Vintage Jazzmaster single coils with additional treble damping. Of course, the traditional rhythm and lead circuits are also used within the Fender '59 250K Jazzmaster, assigning additional tones and separate controls to the neck pickup as needed.
As a special feature of the model, the famous Jazzmaster tremolo on this Custom Shop version may not be missing. In combination with a RSD J-Bridge, which houses two resonant brass tailpieces, this results in shimmering vibrato sounds, which can be called up at any time via the extended tremolo lever. On the headstock, the instrument also exudes classic Fender charm in the form of traditional vintage-style tun ers with the original look and a wing string tree that increases the contact pressure of the h and e strings on the nut.
