For the construction of the 1960 Telecaster NOS, the FenderCustom shop relies on the historically correct specifications and adds subtle modernizations. While the typical slab body is built in two parts of carefully selected ash wood, the bolt-on neck is made of roasted flamed maple in AAA quality, which is especially stable due to the heat treatment and supports the guitar's vibrant sound character. Furthermore, the pleasantly strong "Large C" profile and the 9.5" radius (241 mm) of the "Flat Laminated" fingerboard ensure optimal playing conditions.
Hand-Wound Twisted Tele Single-Coils with Greasebucket Tone circuitry deliver powerful tones of unmistakable Tele twang.
Tele Sound with Custom Shop Touch
For electric tone transformation, the FenderCustom Shop equips the limited-edition 1960 NOS Telecaster with hand-wound Custom Shop Twisted Tele single-coils. Equipped with Alnico magnets, the single-coils deliver assertive cleans and Overdrive with the perfect amount of bite thanks to their significantly increased output power, while the Tele-typical twang and lively dynamics are always part of the sound. The modern 3-way circuit also relies on the popular Greasebucket tone circuit, which also reduces the bass when fading the treble and thus promises a darker, but never muddy sound.
The headstock with Custom Shop badge carries six vintage-style tuners for accurate and stable tuning.
