The Fender Kurt Cobain Jaguar 6-String electric guitar is an as-new version of the guitar the famed Nirvana frontman used throughout the early ‘90s when grunge ruled the world.
The Fender Kurt Cobain Jaguar features the same construction as the 1965 original - an alder body, maple neck and bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot markers. The look of the guitar is finished off with a Stratocaster headstock and a 1950’s style spaghetti logo. That is where the similarities between the original and the Kurt Cobain signature model end though.
Starting with the pickups, the Kurt Cobain Jaguar comes equipped with a pair of DiMarzio humbuckers – a DP103 PAF 36th Anniversary at the neck and a DP100 Super Distortion at the bridge. This combination helped to produce the tones that Nirvana became famous for and helped to change the musical landscape of that era. Joining the pickups are three chrome knurled control knobs, a three-position pickup selector switch, a black chrome Adjusto-Matic bridge and Gotoh sealed tuners.
The Kurt Cobain Jaguar also comes with a black textured vinyl hard case and a Fender-exclusive book that includes photos and commentary by Charles Peterson and an interview with Nirvana guitar tech Earnie Bailey.
