With the Fender 1962 Precision Bass NOS MN Sherwood Green Metallic the Fender Custom Shop introduces an authentic reissue of the Early-Sixties Precision Bass, which due to the New-Old-Stock-Finish has the look and feel of a brand-new vintage original. In addition to the lightweight alder body, Fender uses a bolt-on Quartersawn maple neck with rosewood fingerboard and strong "'60 Oval C" profile. A hand-wound Fender Custom Shop '62 P-Bass split-coil pickup with historically accurate passive electronics provides the desirable, bold Preci sound at the bass amp, with a rich bass and low-mid foundation bringing the grooves of funk, soul, rock and blues to life. For the construction of the Fender 1962 Precision Bass NOS, the Fender Custom Shop relies on traditional woods of the highest quality, so that the instrument comes up with a lively response and a long sustain. The body is made of selected light alder, while the neck is made of sturdy quartersawn maple with standing annual rings. The strong "'60 Oval C" neck profile also promises comfortable playing characteristics on the 20-fret rosewood fingerboard.
Under the historically accurate cover, a Fender Custom Shop Hand-Wound '62 P-Bass split-coil provides authentic vintage tones.
Split coil pickup for classic bass sounds
For the Fender 1962 Precision Bass NOS MN Sherwood Green Metallic pickup, the Fender Custom Shop luthiers chose a Hand-Wound '62 P-Bass split-coil pickup. Equipped with two pole-pieces per string, the dual-coil pickup delivers the classic Preci sound that responds lively to the playing style and delivers the classic grooves of blues, soul, funk and rock with rich punch in the bass. To customize the tone, there's also the traditional passive circuitry with master volume control and treble cutoff to dampen the high frequencies.
Fender vintage-style tuners provide accurate and stable tuning on the headstock of the Fender 1962 P-Bass NOS.
Historically Correct Hardware
As an authentic reissue of a vintage instrument, the Precision Bass NOS MN Sherwood Green naturally features historically correct hardware. Under the cover at the end of the body is a classic 4-saddle vintage bridge, whose ribbed string guides allow not only the adjustment of intonation and string action, but also the string spacing. Behind the bonenut, Fender Vintage-styletuners on the headstock ensure precise and stable tuning.
