Fender American Performer Mustang RW (Penny) Electric Guitar
The Fender American Performer Mustang RW (Penny) represents the historical student model as part of the Fender American Performer series. With a classic slim body design and a 24" scale, the American Performer Mustang offers the well-known agile feel with soft bends and, thanks to the “Modern-C” profile, a sufficient portion of wood behind the 22-flush Rosewood fingerboard. 2x Fender Yosemite single coils wound in Mustang format are used for clear and attack-heavy sounds, which are controlled by a master volume and a master tone control. Thanks to the Greasebucket Tone Circuit, the latter offers the possibility to roll back high frequencies without adding unwanted bass frequencies.
The main features of the Fender American Performer Mustang RW (Penny) include:
6-String American Performer Mustang Electric Guitar

Patrick Droney Introduces The American Performer Mustang
I do like a Mustang as have a few. This one is no exception, ok you don’t get the phase option but the picks sound great ( though do be warned, there is a noticeable drop in volume when moving onto bridge pickup, though it’s got a great twang so I can live with that). Neck feels amazing and plays great. Even though it’s a U.S build, don’t be under any illusion, you will need it setting up, but regardless of the price point I have vary rarely found a guitar that doesn’t need one. Feel, sound, value- great.
