For example, the hand-wound Fender Dual-Mag pickups feature different Alnico blends for the bass and treble strings, whereas the Strat 1/2 Blender circuit and Greasebucket tone circuit provide additional tonal options. The 2019 Limited '55 Dual-Mag Strat also features a bolt-on rift sawn maple neck with a soft V profile and compound fretboard radius for optimum playability. High-quality and historically accurate hardware in the form of a synchronized tremolo and vintage-style tuners completes the Fender Dual-Mag Journeyman Relic Strat.
The Fender 2019 Limited '55 Dual-Mag Strat Journeyman Relic combines classic Fender style with comfortable handling and versatile tones.
The Fender '55 Dual-Mag Strat's ash body and comfortable Soft-V profile rift sawn maple neck are bolted together via four screws.
Traditional wood selection and excellent playability
In designing the Fender Limited '55 Dual-Mag Strat, the Fender Custom Shop follows the mid-1950s specifications. Accordingly, a two-piece body made of selected ash meets a bolt-on one-piece rift sawn maple neck that is highly stable due to the maple's standing annual rings. In addition, the combination of the "Soft V" neck profile and the compound fingerboard radius, which increases from 7.25" to 9.5", guarantees great playability for classical and modern techniques. Last but not least, the lovingly crafted Journeyman Relic Nitro finish conveys the feel of a well-rehearsed and cared for vintage original.
In combination with the Strat-1/2-Blender circuit and the Greasebucket tone circuit, the hand-wound Dual-Mag Pickups with different Alnico mixes deliver a variety of sounds.
Dual-Mag pickups and versatile circuitry
For the electric sound conversion of the Fender Limited Edition '55 Dual-Mag Strat, the Fender Custom Shop uses hand-wound Dual-Mag single-coils that employ Alnico II magnets under the treble strings to tame the high frequencies of the output, whereas Alnico-V magnets under the bass strings provide a piano-like response with rich pressure. In addition to the usual pickup combinations, the Strat-1/2 Blender Circuit allows the neck pickup to be blended in positions 1 and 2 of the 5-way switch, so that neck and bridge pickups or all three pickups can be used simultaneously. The practical Fender Greasebucket Tone Circuit allows for smooth treble roll-offs without overemphasizing the bass.
Vintage-style tuners ensure precise tuning at the headstock with Custom Shop limited edition decals.
Fender '55 Dual-Mag Strat with authentic hardware
Last but not least, historically correct hardware completes the Fender 2019 Limited '55 Dual-Mag Strat Journeyman Relic Super Faded Aged Candy Apple Red. The traditional Fender 6-Saddle Vintage-Style Synchronized Tremolo with its smooth handling and high tuning stability invites you to embellish melodies or chords with shimmering vibrato. Behind the bone nut, six Fender Vintage-Style tuners ensure precise and stable tuning for the Fender Limited '55 Dual-Mag Strat Journeyman Relic.
