Structure and woods
In order for the acoustic guitar to produce a balanced yet powerful tone, the mid-sized Grand Auditorium body is made of a solid spruce top and a laminated mahogany body. With the help of the internal bracing, this combination develops warm bass, midrange and clear treble frequencies that are quick and cover a wide area. At the same time, the 5-piece mahogany neck with ebony inserts promises comfortable playability across all 20 frets set into a sturdy HPL fingerboard.

Hardware and design
The compensated bridge inlay and the 43 mm wide bone nut ensure clean intonation of the strings, which can be easily and precisely tuned with the help of the black Fame die-cast tuners. Peter Maffay's signature in the form of a filigree inlay sits enthroned between the tuners, perfectly matching the mother-of-pearl binding of the special headstock. In addition, the headstock is equipped with a Peter Maffay custom trussrod cover.

The top
To generate a clear and balanced sound, the top is made of solid spruce. Spruce wood is ideally suited for the construction of high-quality musical instruments due to its fine grain and superior sound characteristics. Below the soundhole is the initial "M" in white color, which tastefully contrasts the matte black coloring of the body. The top is bordered by a filigree multi-ply rosewood binding, which perfectly matches the rosewood bridge and the delicate light-colored soundhole rosette. To protect the top wood from scratches, a large checkerboard is positioned below the soundhole.
The laminated mahogany body provides warm basses
Back and sides
To enrich the bass frequencies with a warm note, the back and sides are made of mahogany. The extra thinly layered material harmonizes excellently with the solid top wood, so that there is no need to fear any loss of sound. Thus, the guitar gains substance in the bass and midrange even with a light touch of the strings and produces a broad sound carpet in a rapid response. The individual components of the back of the body are also limited by wooden bindings, so that the overall appearance turns out very coherent and premium.

Electronics
To round out the Peter Maffay Signature model in terms of functionality, an extensive custom pickup system is built into the body. The pressure exerted by the strings on the bridge inlay and the piezo element underneath directly picks up the acoustic sound of the acoustic guitar and sends it to the amplifier. In addition, the output signal can be individually adjusted via three top-mounted potentiometers. Thus, the overall volume, bass and treble frequencies can be adjusted. The active system is powered by a 9V block battery, which is located in a battery compartment in the bottom frame.
