The Fame FK-1 Mahagony Kalimba with 17 tones is a professional instrument in C major. The 17 excellently tuned reeds made of spring steel produce a clear, flowing and extremely pleasant sound that invites you to relax and calm down. The C major tuning with the notes D B G E C A F D C E G B D F A C E allows you to play almost any song. The 17 notes are harmonious so that each note complements the other and all notes are in tune with each other, so no wrong note can be played. Each Fame FK-1 Mahogany Kalimba comes in a practical velvet bag to protect it from scratches and other damages. To remove stains a practical microfiber cloth is included. With the tuning hammer you can retune or re-tune.
I really love this kalimba and I really like how it sounds when it sounds well. Only downsidw is that, at least in the one I got, most notes rattle quite intensively producing a very unpleasant sound. I have tried re-tuning, cleaning and wiggling all of the notes but to no avail. I guess it is a bit of a hit and miss with these products. I do love the sound and handling for the notes than don't rattle though.
