The Fame DD-ONE XT Simon Phillips E-Drum Set is a professional E-Drum Set with Chrome-Rack, real HiHat and the revised XT module, whose sounds were developed by Simon Phillips (e.g. Toto, Protocol). The high-quality drum sounds consist of 1,100 individual samples and were recorded in his studio in Los Angeles. The Fame DD-ONE XT Simon Phillips module comes in a modern look and with an improved user interface that features six stepless volume faders, metal knobs and a larger LCD display. 116 sounds in 8 kits offer high quality professional sound. Furthermore, the USB memory function allows you to store up to 99 of your own samples on the Fame Simon Phillips sound module. The recording function in the Fame DD-ONE XT Simon Phillips E-Drum Set can record your own performance including backing track in real time. Besides the real pro hi-hat (Fame HH-9000) there is a chromed drum rack, four tom pads (10"), a snare pad (12"), an enlarged kick pad (12"), three cymbal pads (12") and the Fame FP9000 bass drum pedal. All pads are equipped with modern mesh heads, which offer excellent feel and reduced volume.
Simon Phillips is one of the most famous and best drummers in the world. He plays at the highest level technically and musically and is considered an idol for many generations of drummers. The former Toto drummer has developed a sound pool with 116 drum and cymbal sounds exclusively for the Music Store Professional, which was recorded with his Tama Star Drumset. The different drum sounds consist of about 1100 individual samples, all of which were created by Simon himself. The precise drum samples reproduce the world-famous Toto sound and give every drummer the opportunity to play with professional sound in his own four walls or in the rehearsal room. There are 8 preconfigured kits and 70 user kits available for free. In addition to the Simon Phillips drum sounds, the DD-ONE sound module contains 77 further percussion sounds, which were recorded in a Cologne recording studio and then processed in the Music Store sound development department and optimized for the XT module. The Simon Phillips sounds are of the highest quality, so the samples need more storage space. The individual samples have longer sustain and a high degree of naturalness. In contrast to the DD-ONE Professional XT, the selection of sounds is more limited, but the module offers optimized sounds with high dynamics.
The 12" HiHat-Pad is mounted on a conventional tripod (Fame HH-9000). Just like an acoustic set, the HiHat can be opened and closed with the foot pedal. A mechanical HiHat with precise triggering (18 combinations) is unique in this price range. The chrome drum rack is also robustly constructed and serves experienced drummers with its excellent adjustment possibilities.
The mesh heads have also been revised. From now on the Fame DD-ONE XT Simon Phillips E-Drum Set offers an extremely realistic playing experience with excellent rebound and low volume development at a reasonable price. Due to the stable nature of the heads, wear is also minimized. The snare is 12" in size, the four tom pads 10", all pads are equipped with two zones, i.e. the rim creates an independent sound. New is also the Cross-Stick function, the module recognizes the Rim-Click technique and reacts with a corresponding sound. The diameter of the kick pad has been increased again, it now measures 12 inches, so the pad reacts even more realistically with regard to rebound and head tension. Two Crash Cymbals with two zones each in 12" and a Ride Cymbal with even three zones offers the highest level of professionalism, especially in this price range.
The Fame DD-ONE XT Simon Phillips E-Drum Set allows real-time recording with 2000 notes per song. Even the track of the AUX IN or a song from the USB device is recorded in parallel, so spectacular performances are recorded and processed in no time. An extensive coaching function helps to train speed and timing with various programs.
There are 116 sounds by Simon Phillips on the module, plus a selection of 77 percussion sounds. If you connect a USB stick, you can load up to 99 of your own WAV samples onto the module. In addition, the module can play up to 99 own sequences/tracks via the USB memory function. 8 kits are pre-stored, but up to 70 own kits can be created additionally. The powerful effects palette offers a lot of possibilities to modify the sounds according to your own preferences, for example a reverb and a 4-band EQ are installed. The included pads connect to the module at the bottom side, this is done via a practical DB25 type. The built-in metronome (30-280 bpm), USB-MIDI, a Master Out (R/L MONO), MIDI IN/OUT as well as an AUX IN complete the functional overall picture of the Fame DD-ONE XT Simon Phillips E-Drum Set. Six infinitely variable group faders control the volume of the individual pads, so you can create your own mix directly on the module. By default the Fame DD-ONE XT Simon Phillips E-Drum Set can be used with the USB to MIDI function to control a DAW. The 64x128 pixel LCD display provides an intuitive control structure and better overview.

Great kit with an impressive selection sound samples recorded by one of my drumming heroes, Simon Phillips. I thought the previous DD kit was an excellent proposition in the world of E-Drums but Fame have really taken things to the next level with this kit, just look at those wonderful black heads - Brilliant!
Having had a number of e-kits over the last forty odd years, starting with the original Simmonds! I have used or owned kits by all the main maker’s.
I chose this kit because it didn’t have hundreds of sounds that I wouldn’t/couldn’t use!
The sounds on this kit are of a really good standard! The build quality is good too!
All in all, it’s a lot of kit for the money!
I bought it for my home studio and for practice. But I’m also thinking of gigging with!
I would definitely recommend this kit!
Well done, service was excellent too!
I can't even begin to say how happy I am with this drumkit.
I spent a huge amount of time in DV247's Romford showroom playing the older version and comparing with kits from Yamaha & Roland
Despite the comparitively low price, the quality of the mesh heads and the included Simon Phillips drum sounds are staggering. How they achieved this magic I don't know!
Am considering a second kit to leave at my rehearsal space so I can take this one home!!
Great massive, nice drums, super gadget, very good sounds, but a lot of sound is unnecessary, more just interesting.Much needs to be set for the right sound, especially foot drum and snare. Accompanying cymbal could be larger.
I already own an original DD-One kit, and was already impressed with it before these new updates to the series. What impresses me the most are the large mesh heads and drum sound quality, which you would usually have to pay a much higher price for. Recommended.
