The Fame Copper Snare Drum FSC-50 in 14"x5" is a professional copper snare with solid cast iron hoops. The 1.2 mm thin shell produces a crisp, voluminous sound with dark projection. The sound of the Fame Snare is characterized by an earthy tone with a lot of bass and warmth. Even with a high tuning, the copper shell sounds much warmer and more woody than a brass or steel shell, for example. The full-bodied sound is again focused by the two cast iron hoops. 10 tuning rods on each side and high-quality heads keep the tone of the drum constant and tuning stable. The throw-off runs soft as butter and promises a good tonal control.
The Fame Copper Snare Drum FSC-50 has a full, earthy and warm sound, thanks to the 1.2mm thin copper shell. The voluminous sound is characterized by a woody and full-bodied tone, which does not produce many overtones, unlike a drum shell from brass or steel for example.
The complete 14"x5" shell of the Fame FSC-50 Snare-Drum as well as all shell hardware has a brushed copper surface. Also the snare throw-off, the hoop and the bridge style lugs are refined in this way. This gives the high-quality Fame Snare a completely unique look that clearly sets it apart from other instruments in this price range. The solid cast iron hoops focus the sound in combination with the 10 bridge-style lugs and the snare wire can be sensitively adjusted. The Fame FSC-50 snare is very tuning stable and constant in tone.

I had the oportunity to play this snare just once so far.
Here's a link to a video where you can hear and judge for yourself.

I might change the ratting and add more vids by a time as well.
To round it I will say it's A BIG, BIG surprice for it's price. BIG ONE REALLY.
Decently LOUD when needed and sensitive as well. I'll try different tunings on a solo video ASAP. The top skin in FAME coated single ply.. Another surprice so far.
It's fairly heavy piece.. not made of paper, right? :D The only thing that kinda matters to me is it tends to loose the screws closer to me in lower tunings. But that might be due to my style of playing of loud rock. When tuned higher, it works as any other snare. And.. I'll soon put some extra nuts against tortion and problem solved.. ;-)
Sounds to me so far rather dark and a bit warm. Not extra bright but as I said.. I played it so far once and these are my ears as well.. :)
Finally.. I say GO FOR IT!!!! Just go! ;-)
Any quiestion, find me as Radek Šikl on FB. I'll gladly answer FAME related questions. The rest of the kit is also produced by FAME - Keller VSS Maple Shells all TTs + FTs 8ply, BDs 10ply.
purchased this snare due to the look, not expecting it to sound as good as it does ! changed the stock head to an ambassador but thats it
awesome sounding snare across the tuning range.
i own 50+ snares ranging from £1,000 to £87 this is the first one to prompt me to write a review. this snare exceeds it's price tag by a long long way.
if you like the look of this snare as a starting point- i totally recommend purchasing.
i may change the tension rods for black chrome one's (personal preference) get one before they realise how good it is !
Simply amazing quality for the price. I havn't changed heads yet but after a quick tune up of stock heads, it sounds as good as a drum 4 times the price. Totally recommend.
This is a great snare!! Built well and sturdy. I left the low tuning that it arrived in and loved it. I can’t wait to hear what else this snare has to offer.
