The Fame Baphomet 4 III adds a new model to the Baphomet series, which not only comes with the usual high build quality, but has also been equipped with brand new electronics: On the one hand, the Baphomet III basses, handmade in Gdansk, come with the Delano JC4 HE/M2 pickup set - on the other hand, a Delano Sonar-2 preamp has been installed, which contours the sound wonderfully and allows individual adjustments to the sound thanks to its 2-band EQ with controls for bass and treble. The ash body and the five-piece mahogany/maple neck also give the Baphomet 4 III a great look, while the grain of the tonewoods is completely individual for each individual piece, making each instrument a real collector's item. Like its predecessor, the Baphomet 4 III comes with a high tonewood quality that not only provides the foundation for a great look, but also skillfully sets the scene for every instrument with its individual wood grain thanks to the matt natural finish. The slim ash body is complemented by a five-piece mahogany neck with maple separating veneers, which ensures robust handling thanks to the six-piece bolt-on neck construction. The "D" neck profile in combination with the 24-fret Pau Ferro fingerboard enables wonderful handling - the matt neck finish additionally emphasizes the high playability of the instrument, guaranteeing a smooth feel for any bass line, no matter how demanding.
The heart of the new Baphomet 4 III electric basses is made up of two Delano JC4 HE/M2 single coils, which produce a great sound with a warm response. The JC4 HE/M2 pickups ("HE" = Hum-free Enhanced) are designed to sound as low-noise as possible thanks to their split-coil humbucker construction in the classic single-coil format, while still fully conveying the basic character of the Baphomet with a transparent sound. The result: a crystal-clear and precise attack as well as assertive mids, tight, contoured basses and clearly defined highs. In combination with the active Delano Sonar-2 preamp, a versatile sound character is created that moves effortlessly between vintage timbre and modern directness.
Rounded off by reliably robust hardware, the instrument is built to last. In detail, a single rail bridge was installed for clean intonation and a robust string action, while the WSC JB15 bass tuners guarantee reliable tuning. On top of this, the Schaller S-Lock strap buttons additionally secure your strap and keep it bombproof on the instrument - wild rehearsal room sessions or extroverted stage performances can be tackled with confidence while the Baphomet 4 III stays securely on your body!
