The
ES-40
from
Expert Sleepers
extracts CV, gate and MIDI commands for connected expanders from the S/PDIF signal of a DAW audio interface. Since S/PDIF is an audio link, it is an extremely precise and jitter-free signal within a DAW. A similar input (and corresponding expander) can be used to send data (e.g. gate from Eurorack) back to the computer. There are five connectors for the expander modules ESX-8GT Mk3, ESX-8CV Mk2 and ESX-8MD Mk2, which can be combined in any way. What would speak against 8-gate and 32-CV outputs? The Silent Way and MAX/MSP software, which are available separately, determine which tasks the expanders are to perform.
