Cicely by Expert Sleepers is an octave fuzz effect inspired by the legendary Octavia guitar pedal. The circuit was developed by Roger Mayer in the 1960s and was most notably used by Jimi Hendrix. The module adapts the concept to the modular environment and adds some additional functions along with control voltage inputs. The effect is essentially to add an octave over the input note, but this only applies to pure input tones - for more complex tones, the sound is altered in all sorts of ways. This is combined with the ability to overdrive the sound and add even more sharpness, while the unique Centre control adds asymmetrical clipping. For the parameters Mix, Gain and Centre there are control voltage inputs, on top of that the module contains an envelope follower with positive and negative CV outputs that can be used freely in Patch and in the module itself, as it is not normalized internally.
