The Ernie Ball 2240 Regular Slinky RPS Nickel Wound Electric Guitar Strings are a set of round wound strings with brass ball ends. The RPS sets are wound strings featuring specific gauges and core to wrap ratios that are chosen for rich, balanced harmonics and the signature Slinky feel. These strings are crafted from nickel-plated steel wire wrapped around a hexagonal-shaped steel core wire. The Reinforced Plain Strings sets are constructed to endure for longer and retain their tuning better than standard plain strings on the market. A patented winding of brass wire is tightly wrapped around the lock twist of the ball end of the plain strings.
