Get more out of ring modulation and crossfading - Black Ring-XFade
Dual Ring Modulator with Crossfader
With the Black Ring Xfade, Erica Synths introduces a dual ring modulator with CV crossfader in the high-quality Black Series. The module features two identical ring modulator circuits that can be switched AC/DC together for optimal processing of audio signals and control voltages. Each ring modulator has its own inputs and outputs as well as an adjustable modulator input. The outputs of ring modulators 1 and 2 are normalized to inputs 1 and 2 of the crossfader. As soon as a cable is plugged into the corresponding socket, the normalization is replaced by the patched signal. This allows the crossfader to be used independently for a variety of tasks. Crossfading two waveforms of an oscillator or mixing modulation sources would be two of numerous application examples. The last link in the Black Ring Xfade's signal chain is a VCA with its own control voltage input. The VCA is "fed" via the inputs of the crossfader. The working range of the VCA is 0-10V or -5 - +5V switchable. The module is perfectly suited for processing audio signals of all kinds. If you combine an oscillator with a microphone preamp at the inputs, you can listen to the Daleks from "Dr. Who". If you take two oscillators with sine waveforms, you hear the typical sounds with metallic character, for which ring modulators are so well known and popular.
