The Epiphone Coronet is without question one of the manufacturer's classic solid body models. Originally introduced as an entry-level instrument in 1959, the particularly agile Coronet soon found itself in the hands of numerous well-known musicians such asJohnny Marr, Steve Marriott, Ace Frehley and even Jimi Hendrix, impressing them with its first-class handling and fitting sounds between blues and rock. With the Epiphone USA Coronet, Epiphone now offers fans and collectors a reissue of the classic from US production and also provides each model with a matching hardshell case.

Doublecut construction made from mahogany
Like the original of the late fifties, the Epiphone USA Coronet consists of a mahogany body and a neck also made of mahogany. The former, with its particularly slim dimensions and generous Cutaways, ensures unrestricted playability and simplified access to the high fretboard positions, while the neck has a proven 'slim taper' neck profile and provides the best conditions from a technical playing point of view. The basic design of the Coronet is rounded off by a rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets and a self-lubricating nut made by GraphTech.
Epiphone P-90 single coil for hot sounds
Under the famous 'Soapbar' housing in the bridge position of the Epiphone USA Coronet is an Epiphone P-90 single coil, which impresses with a particularly hot winding and skillfully combines the tonal characteristics of the classic single coil and modern humbucker. While its single-coil construction stands for a clear, unadulterated basic sound with a sharply defined Attack, its wider coil winding contributes a pleasant mid-range to give both Chords and leads sufficient assertiveness. The pickup's controls are extremely straightforward and consist of a volume control and a treblecontrol.
