On June 9th, 2015, Les Paul, who built the first prototype of his legendary electric guitar in the New York workshop of Epiphone founder Anastasio's "Epi" Stathopoulos, had celebrated his 100th birthday. To honour this particular date, the company Epiphone, which is now owned by Gibson, presents a strictly limited special model of the guitar that has made Paul immortal.
Based on the tried and tested design from 1952, the Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Custom delivers its typical sound and impresses with a series of optical highlights. The natural finish, for example, is perfect for the premium AAA-quality figured maple top, while elaborate bindings on the headstock, front and back of the body as well as the fretboard set special accents. In addition, 24 Carat gold-plated hardware and "Block & Triangle" inlays of Pearloid and Abalone give a noble appearance.
The pickup selection of the Les Paul Custom 100th Anniversary includes a ProBucker-2 and -3 for the Epiphone Limited Edition. Equipped with Alnico II magnets, the humbuckers can not deny their relationship to the legendary PAFs of the 1950s and convince with their authentic vintage sound. Strong basses, vocal mids and transparent airy highs bring to life the sought after sound, every melody, every riff and lick with a sweet voice. In addition, thanks to the coil-split circuit, authentic single-coil sounds significantly expand the sound spectrum of this particular guitar.
Accessories in the form of a case, certificate, strap and picks round off overall package of the Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Custom 100th Anniversary.
The Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Custom 100th Anniversary is also available with a mahogany top in a Cherry finish.
