With its 22” scale, this electric guitar is perfect for younger players with small hands and frames. To make it even easier for young beginners, the strings are spaced a little further apart compared to a regular Les Paul.
Epiphone’s Les Paul Express offers the advantages of the Les Paul design in the form of a mahogany body with a glued maple neck with the coveted SlimTaper profile. The in-house 650R humbucker at the neck and a 700T at the bridge sound clean and warm, the overdrive is set wide and with a lot of crunch. As a replacement for the Tune-o-matic, Epiphone has given the Les Paul Express a fully adjustable FB-601 hardtail bridge.
Also available in Ebony!
First, it's very well made, looks great and sounds great, much better than I expected, especially for the price. It feels like a much more expensive instrument.
Next, I would agree that it's perfect for beginners, those with small hands and as a travel guitar.
But here's another advantage:
I'm not small, and I have large hands, but, because of several medical conditions, I have difficulty playing a "standard" sized guitar, and I've been looking for an instrument that would help with my disabilities. I have arthritis in my hands, and a spinal injury which has left me with numb fingers, a poor finger stretch, weak arms, and I can't stand for even short periods of time.
The guitar is light, the small body makes playing while sitting comfortable, the short scale means I don't have to stretch my fingers so far for chords, or my left hand for frets. The strings are wider spaced which again is very helpful for someone in my condition.
Most importantly for me, by addressing my physical issues, this instrument has made playing fun again!
Don't let the low price put you off!
For the price it's fantastic, and was delivered in a very few days, despite the country (and the rest of the world) being in "lockdown".
Please see my other review's, the one for the 3/4 scale Guitar Carry case,
What can I say about this Epiphone Les Paul??? It's a God Dame Les Paul, my neighborhood must hate me... Lol I can't get enough. I play it every opportunity I can, it feels like I never put it down.
Thanks dv247.com love it so much
Perfect for beginners. Not a full Les Paul but your getting a solid/quality Guitar for a fraction of the price.
OK, so this is a £130 odd guitar. It's not a lot of money, but a great product. Lets face it, if you want something special, pay £1000, if you want your 7 yo daughter to have a great instrument to learn to play on, start here...
