Semi-acoustic SignatureBass of the legendary Jack Casady
The Epiphone Jack Casady Bass Faded Pelham Blue was developed in close collaboration with the busy Washington D.C. musician who, as a member of the legendary Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna, has repeatedly proven that he is one of the most accomplished and creative bassists in rock history. A key component of Casady's signature bass sound, his Epiphone SignatureBass combines traditional semi-hollow elements with a JCB-1 low-impedance humbucker and sophisticated passive electrics that could be used to achieve amazingly multifaceted tones. A comfortably playable "1960s Rounded Bass" neck and indestructible Hardware complete the features of the Jack Casady Bass Faded Pelham Blue from the Epiphone Original Collection.
The Epiphone Jack Casady Bass Faded Pelham Blue was developed together with the bassist of Jefferson Airplane and convinces with characterful sounds and comfortable handling.
Built with a stabilizing center block, the maple body of the Jack Casady bass is glued to the comfortable neck.
Semi-Hollow Bass with long scale length
A classic semi-hollow construction with full 34" long scale length (864 mm) creates the basis for the woody and resonant yet precisely articulated sound character of the Jack Casady Signature bass. The multi-ply maple laminate top, back and sides are stabilized by a solid center block to prevent feedback at high volumes without compromising the sound. The strong "1960s Rounded" profile of the glued mahogany neck is also full and comfortable in the hand, so that on 20-fret Indian Laurel fingerboard even tricky bass lines can be implemented with ease.
A JCB-1 low-impedance pickup and the passive electrics with VariGain switch promise surprisingly multifaceted tones.
Low-Impedance Pickup with VariGain Switch
The pickup on the Jack Casady Bass Faded Pelham Blue is an Epiphone JCB-1 low-impedance humbucker in the middle position, which was developed over many years between the traditional company and the legendary bassist. Due to the special design, the pickup convinces at the bass amplifier with a sonorous sound image that captures the characteristic timbre of the semi-resonant body with organic dynamics and translates fine playing nuances in detail. The VariGain switch for the pickup's impedance also turns out to be a sonic highlight. Depending on the position, the three-position rotary switch varies the sound character significantly, so that no wish remains unfulfilled, from a full-range tone to a biting sound with enormous punch. Volume and tone controls also allow precise adjustment of the personal bass sound.
Classic open bass machine heads with Clover wings guarantee accurate tuning with reliable stability.
Reliable add-on parts
Last but not least, the hardware equipment of the Epiphone Jack Casady Bass is composed of high-quality parts with reliable functionality. On the body of the semi-acoustic Signature bass guitar, the strings find a bombproof hold on the time-tested 3-Point Adjustable Bridge, which rests on three pins and not only contributes to the lively sound character, but also guarantees precise adjustment of intonation and string action. At the headstock, vintage-style tuners with elegant Clover wings also reliably keep the Jack Casady Bass in the correct tuning.
