In a remarkable collaboration, Epiphone and the Gibson Custom Shop have combined their expertise to create the Epiphone Custom 1963 Firebird I. This guitar is a faithful tribute to the original design by Ray Dietrich, a renowned designer from the automotive industry. When it was introduced in 1963, the Firebird was a first for Gibson - it was the first model with a full-length neck. It quickly found favor with artists of various musical genres. Names such as blues icon Johnny Winter, Keith Richards and Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and Phil Manzanera of Roxy Music were among its prominent users. The "Inspired by GibsonCustom 1963 Firebird I" from Epiphone offers the classic specifications of the Firebird at an attractive price. A 9-ply mahogany and walnut neck blends seamlessly into the mahogany body. The Kluson tuners provide a robust tuning and the Wraparound Lightning Bar bridge completes the setup and promises impressive sustain. The Epiphone is powered and amplified by a Gibson-USA mini-humbucker equipped with Alnico 5 magnets and supported by CTS controls and Mallory capacitors. A Gibson CustomHardshell-Case is naturally included to ensure that the guitar always rests securely during storage or transportation.
