The Echofix EF-X2 is a modern tape echo unit based on the great models from the 70s and 80s. For the price of one of the historical originals (incl. the costs for the frequently occurring initial maintenance) the user gets real, electromechanical echo sound incl. spring reverb for warm delay tails and creative sound design. For its reissue, Echofix has tastefully reworked the circuitry of the original units and adapted them to the needs of the modern recording studio. In addition to a line in, a high-impedance DI input is also available. The parameters feedback and tape speed can be controlled remotely with control voltages (0-5V), so that they can even be automated via the DAW, provided an appropriate audio interface. Control via expression pedal with TRS connector is also possible*.
For extra flexibility, a boutique DSP is built in, providing a clean, digital spring reverb and a chorus effect.
