'80s style rock guitar
The EVH 5150 Series Deluxe QM EB Purple Daze is an uncompromising high-speed rock guitar whose design is clearly inspired by Eddie van Halen's shredding axes of the wild '80s. While the asymmetrically designed body and the slim "EVH Modified C" neck promise first-class playing characteristics, the quilted maple top transforms the guitar into an absolute eye-catcher. EVH Wolfgang humbuckers with sophisticated passive switching also provide first-class rock sounds. naturally a Floyd Rose Tremolo with EVH D-Tuna for quick retuning completes the 5150 Series Deluxe EB Purple Daze guitar by EVH.
First-class playing characteristics
When designing the EVH 5150 Series Deluxe guitar, Eddie van Halen paid special attention to comfortable handling and an elegant appearance. The asymmetrical lines make the linden body stable and comfortable on the player, with generous Cutaways promising unobstructed access to the high registers of the bolt-on quartersawn maple neck. The slim "EVH Modified C" neck profile and compound fingerboard radius (305 mm to 406 mm), which increases from 12" to 16", also guarantee excellent playing characteristics, allowing virtuoso high-speed solos and driving riffs to come out of the hand with ease. The intensely grained cloud maple top also transforms the electric guitar into a beautiful eye-catcher.
Wolfgang humbucker with killswitch
The electrical tone conversion of the 5150 Series Deluxe electric guitar is handled by two EVH Wolfgang humbuckers bolted directly to the body. Equipped with Alnico magnets, the high-output pickups elicit juicy oerdrive and distortion tones from the guitar's amplifier, rendering every note with razor-sharp precision even during high-speed shredding. While the volume control is a smooth EVH/Bourns Low Friction potentiometer combined with a treble bleed to prevent treble loss when reducing the volume, the heavy EVH/Bourns High Friction Tone pot holds its setting securely even during wild stage action. The distinctive killswitch on the lower body horn can also be used to create choppy staccato and machine gun sounds.
Floyd Rose Tremolo with D-Tuna
The bridge on the EVH 5150 Series Deluxe EB Purple Daze is of course a Floyd Rose double-locking tremolo with EVH branding, which keeps the electric guitar securely in tune even after the heaviest dive-bombs and squeals. The EVH D-Tuna also turns out to be a practical detail, with the help of which the E-string can be tuned to D quickly and precisely. On the distinctive "field hockey stick" headstock, EVH/Gotoh die-cast tuners also promise precise tuning of the 5150 Series guitar.
