The ESP LTD Alexi Ripped Lefthand is one of the last instruments that the string magician from Finland, who died much too young, designed together with the Japanese guitar forge and also represents the first Laiho
The LTD Alexi Ripped is based on Alexi Laiho's preferred SV design and offers excellent playing characteristics for virtuoso shredding in all positions. The "Thin U" profile maple through-neck fits comfortably in the hand and promises agile handling of the 24-fret Macassar ebony fingerboard, which also features scalloping from the 19th fret. To ensure that every note is hit safely even in poor stage lighting, not only large Sawtooth inlays mark the positions, but also fluorescent side dots. In addition, alder body wings complete the electric guitar.
As the first Alexi Laiho signature guitar with two pickups, the LTD delivers a particularly flexible sound between crystal-clear sparkling cleans and offensive high-gain distortion. With its powerful output, the passive EMG H2 ceramic humbucker at the bridge puts the guitar amplifier under pressure and elicits particularly powerful sounds with well-dosed bite, which bring every note to the ear with razor-sharp precision even with drop tunings and fast attack. In the neck position, on the other hand, the EMG S2 Single Coil promises transparent tones with an optimal balance of brilliant highs and full-sounding basses. The pickups of the electric guitar are controlled straightforwardly by means of a 3-way switch and a general volume control.
Of course, ESP completes the LTD Alexi Ripped Signature guitar with high-quality hardware, which also completes professional assignments "on the road" with unshakable reliability. As a bridge, the proven Floyd Rose 1000 Series Double-Locking Tremolo is used, which convinces with buttery smooth handling and absolute tuning stability even after the heaviest dive bombs. On the typical LTD 6-in-line headstock, Grover Rotomatic tuners also precisely set the signature guitar to the correct tuning.
