Further development of the nEar05 speaker

Like its predecessors, the active ESI aktiv 05 studio monitor was developed for use in project studios and editing suites in audio and video. In addition to a new tweeter and an optimized woofer made of Kevlar and an improved suspension, the German-developed aktiv 05 is equipped with a completely new active crossover. Often Kevlar is only used in much more expensive speakers. ESI has created here a new reference in this price range. Kevlar is particularly suitable for the construction of high-quality woofers, as it is a particularly resistant, durable and lightweight material.

Improvements

Only the combination with the exactly fitting 1" tweeter, which has been slightly adapted and enlarged compared to the previous model, and a specially tuned crossover at 2.5kHz, a lifelike reproduction of the sound is guaranteed and even without the use of an additional subwoofer. It is therefore recommended to compare the different products in this price range not only visually but also acoustically in detail.

Inputs and expansions

On the back of the compact and fully magnetically shielded monitors is an XLR and jack combo connector for balanced and unbalanced connection and a control for adjusting the input level.

For many years ESI manufacturer has been one of the most successful studio monitors in this price and performance class. aktiv 05 is the perfect low-cost alternative to the popular uniK 05 studio monitor.
