The EMG J5 Set is an active single coil pickup set for 5-string basses that has become a modern classic with its distinctive sound. All in all a faultless service
I bought this J5 set to fit to my 5 string jazz that I had previously modified in 1996 with a set of emg pick ups. Unfortunately, at that time only standard 4 string pick ups were available and although the string spacing was within tolerance and the bass sounded great the pick ups were undersized and the install never looked tidy.
This J5 set is a direct replacement for the original pick ups in a 1996 USA Fender Jazz Standard 5 string.
