The Jim Dunlop STRAPLOK ERGO LOK STRAP offers a low-cost protection alternative that does not require any installation or modification to your guitar or bass.
I tryed it on a Gibson Les Paul and on a Fender Stratocaster. On the Gibson it worked great. On the Fender, its a little more difficult because there is less space for the strap, so you cant use a very thick strap. It looks like its going to do the job without having to mess with the original screws on the guitar.

Versatile, cheap and effective way to keep your strap locked
I have been using these locking gizmos for years and never had a problem with straps and guitars falling off ever since. They are as effective as modifying the strap screws with locking mechanisms and at a fraction of the price. And these are easily installed and uninstalled from any guitar/bass without screwdrivers or guitar modifications.
This is a very good and cheap straplock, its easy to instal and works great. I test it whith other more expensive straplocks, and this was the one that never fail in tests, its really very good, and it looks great too.
These are well made and a great idea, made from plastic so no problem with them. They work well, I am using them on an acoustic guitar and are perfect for this as the bottom pin is plastic as well. I am sure they will also work well on electrics as well but I prefer the metal type for them.
