The Darkglass Alpha ∙ Omega 200 combines the extreme sonic flexibility of the popular Alpha Omega pedals and the volume reserves of a 200 watt Class D power amp in an extremely handy top unit weighing just 0.97 kg. In addition to the usual adjustment options for the separate Alpha and Omega drives and a precise EQ, the αΩ200 head offers a DI-Out for direct sound pickup, as well as convenient headphone and aux-in connections.
The clearly structured front panel of the Darkglass Alpha ∙ Omega 200 allows precise adjustment of the bass sound via seven controls marked with pictograms.
Alpha Omega Distortion and 3-Band Tone Control
The Preamp of the αΩ200 naturally relies on the separate Alpha and Omega circuits, which can be continuously mixed via the Mod pot to call up a wide range of top-notch distortion sounds for Bass. Alpha stands here for a cultivated Drive with enormous tightness, while Omega delivers a simply brutal distortion with maximum gain. In addition to the blend control, which adds the clean signal to get punch and definition in the low end, Darkglass equips the Alpha Omega 200 with an active 3-band tone control for precise adjustment of the sound.
Class D power amplifier, sophisticated equipment
By using a contemporary Class D power amplifier, the Darkglass Alpha Omega 200 has up to 200 watts of power despite its compact dimensions, which promise sufficient volume reserves for band rehearsals and gigs in small settings. In addition to the convenient combo jack that accepts speaker cables with speaker twist and jack plugs, Darkglass equips the head with a balanced DI out for direct pickup of the bass sound. In addition, the Alpha Omega 200 has a headphone jack for silent Bass play and an aux-in for the output of backing tracks or playalongs.
The rear panel of the αΩ200 Head houses the combo jack for connecting bass cabinets, the balanced DI-out as well as the headphone output and the aux-in.
