The D'Addario EJ40 Folk Acoustic Guitar Strings 11-47 is a set of six strings for an acoustic guitar. The EJ40 Silk & Steel strings are gauged specifically for players who use traditional fingerstyle methods and prefer a warm, mellow tone. These strings are constructed using a pairing of silver-plated copper wrap wire with silk for easy fingering and a mellow tone. They are ideal for smaller body acoustic guitars and preferred by folk players.

Ive been eyeing these strings for a while now and I finally got the chance to order them, coupled with another product. I wanted to replace my Daddario strings, the original ones that came with the Takamine guitar. I wanted a more mellow tone, as close as possible to a concert guitar. It was a step in that direction, but they werent actually as mellow as I had expected. The overall sound got a little muddled, too, compared with the previous strings (that I cant name right now, because I cant remember what they were called). For the clarity itself, I think I would prefer my previous strings, but they do sound somewhat warmer. And they are easier to play for a beginner. If any of this sounds appealing to you, the price is low enough to try them out.
