Introducing the Nord Piano 6
The Clavia Nord Piano 6 88 at a glance
In the sixth generation of the popular Nord Piano, Clavia has once again succeeded in raising the bar for a stage piano. In addition to the control panel design with LED faders, the new features include two layers each for piano and synthesizerwith independent effects and a high-quality 88-key hammer action keyboard with triple sensor technology for particularly expressive playing. Combined with excellent portability and world-class sounds, the Nord Piano 6 offers great flexibility for performance, production and sound creation. The simple operation combined with the many control elements ensures targeted work on the instrument. With 576 presets spread over 16 banks of 36 programs each, there are enough memory locations to have the right sounds ready for every situation. If you want to work with split points, you can set up to 9 positions per Presetwith optional crossfade for seamless transitions. The positions for splits are fixed and are indicated by LEDs above the keyboard. Details such as a Live Mode with 6 presets in direct selection, Program Up/Down and Vibrato options for the Nord Triple Pedal 2 and USB-MIDI included in the scope of delivery round off the Nord Piano 6's lavish equipment for the stage.
Piano section
Nord Piano 6 includes a wide selection of Grand, Upright, Electric, Clavinet pianos and other sounds from the exclusive Nord Piano Library, as well as new features such as Dynamic Compression and Unison. Clavia's state-of-the-art sampling technology captures the extraordinary nuances and true character of the original instruments. All sounds can be exchanged with the Nord Sound Manager (Mac/Win). The two independent layers share the 120-voice polyphony and have access to 2GB of sample memory. Furthermore, each layer can be adjusted in various ways typical of digital pianos. The velocity curve can be selected in three stages (Heavy, Medium, Light). With TIMBRE you can switch between five variants that affect the overall sound of the piano layer. For the Grand Piano and Upright Piano sounds, the instrument offers a variable string resonance. The included Nord Triple Pedal 2 allows sensitive control of functions such as Advanced String Resonance and Dynamic Pedal Noise, creating an amazingly realistic expressiveness.
Sample Synth Section
The Sample Synth section also has two independent layers and offers an extensive collection of new and updated sounds ranging from strings, brass, basses and guitars to classic analog leads and synth basses. The Factory bank contains exclusive high-end samples from the renowned Spitfire, Symphobia and Swing libraries. The two independent layers share 120-voice polyphony and have access to 1GB of sample memory. Each layer is equipped with an ADS envelope (Attack / Decay / Release) and adjustable velocity behavior. The three-stage unison function provides broad, chorus-like sounds, which are particularly beneficial for synthesizer sounds. Thanks to the modern round robin function, a natural sound is achieved when notes are played repeatedly.
Effects section
The Nord Piano 6 has an extended and new effects section per layer. The large selection of effects includes an impressive range of reverb, delay, amp and modulation effects.
