The innovative effect device from the renowned US pedal forge Chase Bliss Audio sees itself as a musical notepad that stores recorded ideas and riffs, and can later expand them into interesting loops, multi-layered patterns and creative harmonies. For this purpose, the Habit offers a 60-second delay, complex multitap capabilities and two modifier banks that add additional sonic charm to the recorded material. Of course, the Chase Bliss Habit also features extensive control options in the form of MIDI, CV and expression connections, and provides experimental musicians with a wonderful basis for effective and intuitive songwriting. 

Classic echo sounds

The top row of controls on the Chase Bliss Habit controls the pedal's delay section and is made up of classic Delay controls in the form of Level, Repeats and Size knobs. The former determines the echo volume, while the Repeats control determines the echo count from light delay effects to wild tapestries of sound. Size, on the other hand, defines the time spacing of the repeats and, with its minimum time of 50 ms, skillfully covers the territory of classic rockabilly slapbacks as well as long-lasting Loops with up to 60 seconds of spacing.

Echo Sculpting & Multi-Tap Delays

In the next step, the Habit provides extensive possibilities to process the recorded material in a creative way. Here, the modifier circuits play an important role and, with the help of the spread control, allow diverse echo layering for the creation of innovative multi-tap delay sounds. For interaction with the internal memory of the Chase Bliss Habit, the Scan control is available, which can either be switched to Auto mode, where it automatically recalls and plays back audio tracks from the memory at defined time intervals, or to Manual mode, where it allows you to listen to the material that has already been recorded.
