The U4MIDI WC from CME is a classic 2x2 MIDI interface with an extended range of functions. It offers two MIDI inputs and two outputs, a USB-C port and a standalone mode. The main task of the U4MIDI WC is to connect two MIDI I/O ports to a computer. This allows you to connect an old rack expander to a modern DAW via MIDI In and Out, connect a keyboard for note input and supply a drum computer with Clock and sync. The interface also functions as a thru box (distributing one input to two outputs), as a merger (combining two inputs and outputting them to 1-2 outputs) and is able to apply data filters and reassign MIDI commands. The box forwards MIDI data of any type to multiple receivers without loss. All common parameters from the MIDI protocol such as notes, controller, clock, SysEx, timecode and MPE are processed and transmitted. Power is primarily supplied via the USB-C port; as the interface also works standalone without a computer, it can also be operated with a separately available power supply unit.
